Vaughn is a native of Huntsville. She is a retired health care executive and has enjoyed music as a hobby for many years. Vaughn has been a member of local concert bands and music groups and welcomes the addition of a Philharmonic Orchestra. She knows that there are so many talented musicians in Muskoka who will now have yet another venue through which to showcase their talents.

Allison is a timpanist/percussionist with two decades of professional ensemble experience that spans North America as well as advanced music degrees from Cleveland and Toronto. Allison has performed with top Canadian orchestras (TSO, Canadian Opera Company, National Ballet, and Winnipeg Symphony, to name a few). When not performing Allison has pursued Arts roles off stage in Orchestra Personnel Management, Artist Agent, Artistic Admin, and HR. Allison is passionate about bringing the beauty and transformative quality of classical music to diverse audiences.

After attending the first concert of the Muskoka Philharmonic Orchestra, Gerri  knew she wanted to be involved with this talented group. Drawing on her  experience with community music organizations and a keen eye for finance, she is  happy to be part of this group as treasurer.

Marielle is the Principal Clarinet at the MPO and owner of Helping Buddy Muskoka. She has been a part of many groups in the Netherlands and Toronto, both as a musician and a board member. She is excited to be part of this organisation, which fills the void of a philharmonic in Muskoka, and is looking forward to growing this already impressive orchestra.

Susan grew up in Huntsville and in the past has participated in community bands and choirs. She is the founder and owner of a successful small business and in her role as a business owner she has demonstrated strong leadership, sound management, and a commitment to excellence. Susan brings valuable insight and a community-oriented perspective to the Board, with a particular interest in supporting the orchestra’s mission and long-term sustainability. She is a dedicated advocate for the arts and recognizes their importance in fostering a vibrant and engaged community. 

Carol is a retired music educator who has been involved as a performer with many bands and orchestras across Ontario.  

She has enjoyed playing French horn with MPO and is pleased to be on the MPO Board. 

Born and raised in Huntsville, Cydney returned home following university and has spent over two decades serving the local community. A veteran theatre director, performer, and active non-profit Treasurer, she blends hands-on creative experience with a strong administrative and governance background. Cydney is passionate about expanding the MPO’s reach, building community partnerships, and securing long-term sustainability for live orchestral music in Muskoka.

Jay is a retired developmental paediatrician, academic administrator and medical educator who spent most of his career at the University of Toronto and the Hospital for Sick Children.    Prior to medicine, Jay received his ARCT in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Jay and his wife Laura have been cottaging in Muskoka for almost 40 years and now divide their time equally between Muskoka and Toronto.  They are proud parents of three children and their spouses,  and  three grandchildren,   with another one on the way.  They are members of the Muskoka Philharmonic Orchestra, Jay playing piano/keyboard, and Laura, oboe and English horn.   Jay coordinates the MPO chamber ensemble and accompanies both the ensemble and the MPO singers.  As a retirement project, Jay has been studying violin at the Huntsville Suzuki School of Music.

Jay looks forward to contributing to and learning from the MPO board and hopes to bring both his professional and prior board experience, as well as musical experience as an MPO musician to the board discussions.
